The diadem worn by the bride is a heirloom from the family De Lannoy and was made in 1878 by the firm Althenloh in Brussels. The firm apparently acquired an international reputation for the quality of their jewelry and exquisite designs. The jeweller was originally located in the Magdalena Straat / Rue de la Madeleine, near the Royal Palace in Brussels. Clients included, among others, Prince Philippe and Princess Maria of Belgium née Princess von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, Count and Countess of Flanders (the parents of King Albert I of the Belgians) and many, many Belgian and European noble families. The diadem was also worn on the weddings of the sisters of Countess Stéphanie. It is made of 270 brilliants on a platina frame with a large upright pear shaped diamond as centre stone. Source: Hola
