The ribbons are no longer bunched up in a bow. I have read about changes in the ribbons but cannot locate the notes right now. --Previous Message-- : The interesting active thread about Princess : Margaret's tiara made me think of royal : family orders worn by ladies. : : In the photos of Princess Margaret (and : indeed, and modern royal lady) the family : orders have a 'folded napkin' type of : effect. The jewels themselves are lovely : but the ribbons take up more real estate on : the breast of the gown. I just want to : contrast this to how royal ladies wore their : orders in the past. The ribbons appeared to : be smaller, and the orders were clustered in : a glorious jumble on the breast. They took : up less room, but were still fascinating and : sparkly. In my opinion, it is a more : successful look.
