    I do believe that the Queen has made a point of being photographed wearing certain jewels that reachd her only after the death of the Queen Mother, particularly pieces that are heirlooms of the crown.
    The Hanoverian fringe, or Queen Adelaide’s Fringe Necklace as it should now be known since the QD, is an heirloom of the crown, so an official portrait occasion would have been ideal to bring it out.
    If so, then it would be the necklace in the NZ portrait - but how to prove that and that the necklace is not the London is the challenge.
    Edit: I opt for the necklace being Queen Adelaide's.

    In the trio here, the London necklace is the first and the other two are Queen Mary's. The bottom two are Queen Adelaide's.
