When looking at how wonderful this smaller version of the broche from the Stuart "Parure" looks I am truly amazed that for over 40 years no one in the family saw any use for it... It could even be worn on a day-ensemble to great efect (Elizabeth II would wear it surly that way).
I just love it that HM the Queen choose to add at least 5 pear-shaped Pearls to her Würtemberg Tiara tonight giving it more hight than usual. Last time this was done was in 1982 in London when she actualy wore all 11 upstanding Pearls on it. Ever since, she choose to wear the tiara without any of the pearshaped Pearls, but tonight needed something extra I suppose... I Always find the Tiara looking a bit naked, amputated almost, when the upper Pearls are not there
