I agree with your view. The Queen's gown was stunning but I had expected something more stately, more stiff and exquisite fabrics, gloves, etc. This was no 'robe' in my optinion. I also found it a pity that the King wore the ermine. When he delivered his speech, the ermine looked really beautiful. But when he stood up and/or walked, it was really so out of modern time and was no nice match with the civil wear, in my personal opinion.
I preferred Johan's suggestion to do it à la Sweden: to drape the ermine on the throne. For the rest it were three unexpectedly glittering days.
