Hm, I merely stated what I heard at the time of their engagement. Whether this information was an established fact or just an assumption by the press I am not sure any longer. Had it been a gift would he have had to pay tax on it?

: Do you know it came from the Queen Mother's

: It might have been a gift from her to
    : Charles.

: What about the engagement ring Camilla
: received from Charles that came from the
    : Queen Mother's estate?

: Officially, all of the Queen Mother's was
: inherited by the Queen, thus avoiding death
: duties and taxes, as arranged from one reign
: to another when property passes from
    : sovereign to sovereign.
: Though in the case of the Queen Mother it
: applied under the arrangement of her late
    : husband the King.
    :
: Many speculate that the Queen Mother might
: have left instructions about who she would
: like to enjoy her property. That could be
    : so.
    :
: I assume that an arrangement has been made
: with government over property passing from
: the Queen to Charles but I don't think
: anything has ever been made public on that
    : topic. Anyone know?

: That makes sense. What about pieces that the
: Queen Mother may have left the PoW? Again,
: I'm new that this so I don't even know if
    : she did that.

: RE, you beat me in answering.

    :
: If Charles has given Camilla jewels as
: private gifts, then I would suppose she
: could leave the pieces to whomever she
: wished. These would be only the pieces he
: has purchased privately. If I'm wrong, I
    : stand corrected.

: I'm sorry if this subject has been discussed
: before. I'm new to the subject of royal
: jewels, and have learned a great deal from
    : this site.
    :
: I was wondering what might happen to the
: jewelry that the PoW has given, or will give
: to Camilla upon her death? Will it go into
: the royal vaults, or can they be left to her
: children? Of course, I'm speaking of the
: more financially substantial pieces, ie: a
: thread started by Joye (jan 25) about a
: diamond necklace the PoW had given her.
