Looking at the different items, the most logical form of the frame seems now to be one with 5 upright spikes, the middle one more than twice longer than the other 4. At the end of each spike a screw is placed in the hole behind the drop diamonds. To hold the swinging drop diamond in the central element in place, the little hook is screwed onto the middle of the longer central spike.
The long pin obviously is meant for the central element to be worn as a brooch, but that means that the lock is missing.
That leaves only the small pin, for which I have no explanation, as we don't see screwholes on the back, that near to each other for it to fit. Could it be that this pin once belonged to another jewel?
