Thanks for posting these pictures Maridje. The're great. One thing I did notice in the second picture is that Pres. Pompadou wore his Legion d'honneur Star above his Star of the Order of the Bath. Prince Philip wore his Legion Star beside his Garter Star. I wonder if this was done because these 2 orders are of equal importance (i.e. both highest in their respective lands) whereas the Bath is a lesser order and takes deference - or - did Philip wear them beside each other as a courtesy to his host, that is, perhaps in other circumstances he might wear the Legion star below the Garter.
