Hello Arthur, Your recent post has me perplexed. Your first comment, 'That is the most probable', seemed to suggest that you agreed with Nellie's comment, but then you went on to say borrowed pearls were unthinkable. Perhaps we have a slight communication glitch. As we all know, for her wedding, Princess Elizabeth wore a diamond tiara in her mother's possession - it was definitely borrowed. So I cannot see anything odd in suggesting that a very young princess might have been wearing pearls belonging to her mother. Is it that you were indicating that a British royal princess of that era would not have borrowed pearls from a jeweller?
