you are right, there has been certainly a slight misunderstanding.
I meant that it is highly unprobable that the British Royal Family would borrow jewels from jewellers. But they could of course borrow jewels within the Royal Family.
My reaction may have been influenced by the recent thread about Queen Mathlde of Belgium's floral diamond brooch, which happened to be a loan from Wolfers (which I think is not really convenient for a Queen or a Crown Princess).
I apologize if anyone has been confused by my previous posts.
--Previous Message-- : Hello Arthur, : Your recent post has me perplexed. : Your first comment, 'That is the most : probable', seemed to suggest that you : agreed with Nellie's comment, but then you : went on to say borrowed pearls were : unthinkable. : Perhaps we have a slight communication : glitch. : As we all know, for her wedding, Princess : Elizabeth wore a diamond tiara in her : mother's possession - it was definitely : borrowed. So I cannot see anything odd in : suggesting that a very young princess might : have been wearing pearls belonging to her : mother. : Is it that you were indicating that a : British royal princess of that era would not : have borrowed pearls from a jeweller? : : --Previous Message-- : Why would it be unthinkable for a young : princess to borrow pearls from her mother, : who had many?? : : :
