Sorry, Nellie, I had misunderstood your comment. I do not think the Art Déco Brooch is (or was ever) a coat clasp. That would imply that the brooch is made of two parts, which can be separated (like two twin clips, for example). But if you look closely at the brooch, you can see that, at the centre of it, you have a big aquamarine, and not the separation line which is usually visible between two joined clips. Of course, we could imagine that the brooch could come apart in two different brooches, by removing the central aquamarine and letting it unused.
