    I downloaded one of the same pictures you provided yesterday but never noticed the rings (I was necklace "shopping").

    That makes a lot of sense Nellie.
    I can remember my Grandmother moving her rings to her other hand (or her purse) when she used to greet people at church for that very reason.

    Nothing worse that a firm handshake that makes your large precious gems dig into your hand !... (we should be so lucky !)

    But kidding aside - my Gran often said that some people did not adjust the firmness of their handshake and it would hurt - especially later in life (she live to just 6 mos shy of her 100th birthday !)
