    These are the so called "Crown Rubies". The necklace and earrings were made for Queen Victoria
    (QV) and originally contained opals as the main stones. QV left these jewels to the Crown.

    Queen Alexandra thought opals unlucky and swapped them out for rubies (she did the same to the Oriental Circlet as seen in your pictures).

    These were some of the jewels that The Queen let her mother continue to use until her death in 2002
