I have had a wonderful time re-reading the thread started in 2012 by Nathanial B and the video from the Dulong site. I recommend the entire thread. I don't recollect seeing the video before. Perhaps I was side trackeded by looking at the photos.
One thing which took my interest while viewing the video is that a jeweller is filmed filing the metal work around elements of the necklace.
I wonder if the metal work needed rebuilding ( a distinct probability for such an old necklace) or if the setting was changed from silver to white gold or platinum.
I confess, I was disappointed by the quality of the black pearls. Apart from being ringed, the pearls do not appear to have either the best colour or lustre. I have suspected for a long time that the egg shaped pearls are freshwater pearls. This video has reinforced that view for me.
    What do others think?
PS Perhaps some of the answers are in the video but I have no understanding of Danish, so the commentary was no help for me.
EDIT : Thank you Nathanial B for the very interesting thread - and one which has proved of more than passing interest.

: Thank you Ayvee. Lucky you to have the book.
: Before I posted my recent reply, I
: recollected that I had seen information (on
: this board) about how the necklace and
: earrings, as well as the tiara, were
: transformed. Unfortunately, with the search
: terms I used, I could find information only
: about the tiara. I thought the jeweller was
: Charlotte Lynggaard! With the correct name
: of the jeweller, I was able to find the post
    : by Nathanial B in 2012.

: I will enjoy exploring it again. Many thanks
