I have looked more closely at the photos posted by Baxter and Arthur. I cannot see any facets, but that may be a result of the light conditions or that the photos are not focused on the earrings. Because the stones do not look symmetrical or the same shapes to me, I think they might be Indian Polki diamonds; however, they may also be rose cut diamonds as Baxter thinks. I now also realise that some of the metal work is yellow gold. Below is a link to some Indian jewellery which contains some jewels with uncut diamonds. http://www.thejewelleryeditor.com/2012/08/the-new-rajasthan-jewellery-collection-by-zoya/
--Previous Message-- : Thank you for the wonderful photos Arthur and : Baxter. I can now see that the stones in the : upper section look like diamonds. I suspect : the setting is silver. I have long wondered : if the setting is Indian. If so, it is : possible that the stones are not faceted (as : used in traditional jewllery - there is a : special term for such diamonds, but my mind : is not working yet). That would explain the : lack of sparkle. These earrings seem to be : the Duchess' favourite pair. : : --Previous Message-- : : It looks like old rose cut diamonds: : : : : KOCHI, INDIA - NOVEMBER 12: Camilla, Duchess : of Cornwall tries on some Indian earrings as : she visits Aluva Palace for a Kudumbshree : event on day 7 of an official visit to India : on November 12, 2013 in Kochi, India.
