Re: Duchess of Cornwall Diamond Rosette Brooch Archived Message

I have had this brooch listed as the rosette gift from QM to QEQM (from the black and white picture) but seeing Arthur's photo made me think again and thought that someone might have different/better insight. It looks as if we are all on the same page - granted, it is impossible to say for sure!

As for the brooch placement, many royal ladies wear 2 brooches, front and back, so that the sash does not side. If I recall correctly it was Baxter who posted some excellent pictures of QEII with the brooch quite fall down her back which were new pictures to me. We so seldom get photos of HM from the back and I was not aware HM used this technique. I had however noticed it more with the "continental" royals.

    Cheers!

: None of the brooches visible next to the topaz
: brooch and earrings, on the auction
: catalogue, looks like a rose. There can be
    : no confusion.

: Am I the only one who find a bit strange
: (and disappointing) the way how the Duchess
: of Cornwall has pinned her brooch, at the
: top of the shoulder? (and she did so each
: time she wore this brooch, i.e. for the
: Dutch inauguration, and for the State
: openings of Parliament in 2013 and 2014)
: Usually, a brooch should be pinned on the
: breast, so that people can see it.

: I have a question relating to a brooch worn
    : by
: the Duchess of Cornwall on the back of dress
: to hold her sash of the Royal Victoria
    : Order.
    :
: It is a small diamond rosette style brooch.

: I was reminded of this when earlier today,
