Too bad I didn't know you were in Paris, maybe we could have met for un cafe?
The Gallerie d'Apollon was closed for renovations, and the Crowns and other jewels weren't on display. Unfortunately, no one told me about the ones in the medieval galleries. Too bad the museum docents aren't trained to know where artifacts are located, or at least take the time to consult with reference resources when responding to visitor's inquiries.
If you are interested in the catalogue, here is the reference info
You need to provide your Paris library card (which you probably already have. It is a bit of a process to obtain if you aren't Parisien and don't already have one). Make sure to include the word "folio" in the retrieval request, otherwise they'll tell you it is located at another location. (Folio seems to be a library term meaning over-sized. They keep the over-sized book on-site, and regular books in storage).
