Thank you for the photos Arthur.
I still think that Queen Mary may have had 2 similar sets of earrings with cabochon emeralds.
The second photo in J-F's thread above interests me, as the earrings in that photo (I am sure they are emeralds as the rest of HM's jewels are) seems smaller than those worn at the Delhi Durbar and those worn in modern times by QEII.
I don't know the date of J-F's photo but I suspect that it was taken before Queen Mary had her emerald parure (as we know it today) made, as the necklace seem to be similar to how her mother had the emeralds set.
This is another situation where many of us would love to be able to consult Queen Mary's jewel and dress books. Alas, I don't think they will available in the near future - so photographic evidence and clues from other sources will have to suffice.
I'll keep hunting for evidence but, in the meantime, I acknowledge that you may be correct.
