    Dear Arthur,

Please note that I can"t also identify a second greville emerald brooch after rereading your comments...However, I am pretty that I read that she had inherited an other emerald and diamond brooch from Miss Greville.

Please also note that the water-lily brooch is a silver wedding gift from King George VI in 1948. However, I don"t remember the source.

    Best regards,

    Franck

: Regarding your list of emerald brooches worn
: by the Duchess of Cornwall, I agree with
: you, except on the last one (the "small
: emerald and diamond brooch"). I can not
: identify which brooch it is (I do not
: suggest you are wrong, just that I do not
    : identify the brooch).
    :
: Regarding QEQM's emerald brooches which have
: not been worn since her death:
    :
: - I am not sure that we can identify a
    : "second Greville emerald brooch":
: Leslie Field, in the chapter of her book
: about emeralds, mentions that QEQM owned a
: magnificent emerald necklace inherited from
: Mrs Greville. In the same paragraph, she
: also writes that QEQM owned " pendant
: emerald earrings, diamond and emerald
: bracelets and two large emerald and diamond
: brooches ", but she does not suggest
: that these jewels are Greville heirlooms
: (though it could be the case).
    :
: - I have also written in my files that the
: water-lily brooch is a silver wedding gift
: from King George VI in 1948, but I have
: unfortunately not noted the source for this
: information. QEQM has worn the brooch not
: only for Princess Anne's christening in
: 1950, but also for Prince Charles'
    : christening in 1948.
    :
    :
: - I am very puzzled by the brooch worn by
: QEQM on the second last picture of your
: post, I can not identify this brooch.
