    Dear all,

Please find below a "better photo of the brooch" worn by Queen Mary

We can see it the same brooch worn by Queen Elizabeth II.

: Brock, I agree with you, the brooch on the
: collar could be the central part of the Rose
: of York (gift from the county of Cornwall)
: bracelet with the two lower petals hidden by
    : fabric.

: Looking at this photo after a good night
: sleep, I'm still thinking the lower of the
: two brooches is a good match for the Malta
: Aquamarine, but I'm now convinced the throat
: brooch is not a four leaf clover but the
: brooch from the ruby Rose of York bracelet
: with the bottom two "petals"
    : obscured by fabric.

: The following photo, taken in Preston on 8
: July 1913 during King George's and Queen
: Mary's tour of Lancashire, has me intrigued.
    :
: I wonder if the brooch at HM's throat could
: be the 4 leaf clover brooch given to Queen
: Mary by Sir Frederick and Lady Milner as a
    : wedding gift.

: Unfortunately, the Court circular in the
: Times does not give a description of HM's
: jewels for this occasion. Nor have I found
: one in the provincial press (to which I have
: access) for this particular day of the tour.
