During the State visit to Italy, in the early eighties, Queen Sofia wore a square brooch with a round or oval turquoise in the centre. Browsing through some older photos of the late Queen Frederica of Greece with her grand-children, I spotted the same brooch. I apolgize for not showing a close-up, but I could not find other photos that I had seen in the past, where you have a better view of the brooch (I am sure that some of you will have better photos to share). It must be among the very few pieces of jewelry having belonged to her mother, inherited by Queen Sofia.
