What happened to the ban on cameras and recording devices? I remember a time when security personnel at a venue would search you for appliances at the door and then refuse admission if they caught you with a camera or a recorder. Why can't they reinstate that ban? After all, smokers survived the smoking ban alright, so why can't people leave their smartphones at home for one night? I particularly remember a show at the Hallenstadion in Zurich, Switzerland, maybe 15 years ago where they made announcements in several languages warning people that they would be expelled from the venue if caught smoking. Surely that could be applied to smartphones as well? Or are promotors worried people are so addicted to their smartphones that they wouldn't go to concerts any more?
