Haven't seen this one in 44 years!
Bogart is great, but the entire cast shines as well. And this looks really good on my 39 inch TV.
EIGHT ON THE LAM(1967)...on the other hand...how can you have Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, and Jonathan Winters in such a bad film is beyond me. Zero laughs about Hope, as a bank teller and widower who finds a money clip with thousands of dollars. I don't remember how I found this film, but it made me flee out the fire exit. If there was one.
OKLAHOMA CRUDE (1973)...fine film with Faye Dunaway and George C Scott as wildcatters trying to prevent an oil company from stealing their solitary well. The 2 leads and John Mills, as Dunaway's dad, are splendid. And there's Jack Palance, perfect as the Company Boss, to punctuate the fight.
THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JUDGE ROY BEAN (1972) Paul Newman is miscast in this comic western. Director John Huston has a amusing small role, but everyone else is second to a bear. The bear out-shined all other thespians. Except for one - Stacy Keach as gunslinger, Bob The Albino.
THE FRISCO KID (1979) Harrison Ford and Gene Wilder in an amusing and charming film about 2 opposites bonding in efforts to reach San Francisco. I actually remembered seeing this in a theater when it first came out.
a mixed bag here, Virg! LOL
