Except West Side Story is looked at and many recent productions have received criticism. It's not so much about stereotypes but more about ethnicity in casting. Having a mainly white cast play chinese, often in tradition (or traditionally inspired) costumes gets more problematic as each year goes by.

Panto has gotten a pass for a long time for this due to its tradition. If they can take the Chinese element out and put it more in a fairytale world they would probably be ok
