Re: Applause at the end of live recordings
I agree with Ralph Moore. I listen to live recordings as reports on live events, and like to be reminded there was an audience and an interplay between them and the artists. Of course there is room also for studio recordings, and particularly with intimate forms of music-making we may prefer a dead silence reminding us that this is an idealized, artificial manufactured product. But to cut out concert-hall ambience and audience response in a live recording detracts from its value.
