Dieter, the Sassenachs are the English (from the Gaelic for "Saxons" via the Latin "Saxones" back to the Germanic origin - as I am sure, you being of Teutonic roots - I assume - should be aware). Previous Message

Correction Dieter: most things English , rather than British . Remember, his favourite band across the pond is the RSNO.
We're talking here about somebody who in one of his reviews didn't seem to realise that Hallé wasn't actually a place. I suppose we ought to concede that at least he seems to get the difference between British and English.
