Dave - I think you are right in all you say. Especially so regarding not just symphonies (obviously the "form" being listed here) but in CM in general from Asia and especially Latin America. In an age where people are falling over themselves to be seen as being mindfully inclusive I simply do not understand how Latin American CM is nearly completely ignored by concert planners and recording companies (Naxos honourably excepted) when it ticks all of those boxes as well as being top drawer qualitativley as well. Previous Message I'm not sure those are even very thoughtful "diversity" choices, they probably just came off a current playlist, and I don't think it helps anyone to just graft these onto the usual list biased towards 19th Century European symphonies. There were also symphonies composed in Latin America and Asia.
