The last sentence in your second paragraph - I couldn't agree more.
However, the doubts raised in your last paragraph are not to be ignored... especially where you mention
"continue the BIS legacy" - time alone will indeed tell. Interestingly, on the site I referred to there were
quite a few comments, most of which were meaningless, but there was one which states "So why this
purchase? It's not for the cash flow, technology, or talent. I really don't see what it does for Apple."
As Nick said - it's the implications for the future direction of BIS and what will happen to the resource
that is their back catalogue. And I doubt if they made any promises to Robert von Bahr regarding this.
OK, maybe my post was a bit hasty/unfair, and if in the long term I'm proved to be wrong that's fine.
