There are some exercises they gave me to try myself for my ankles and lower leg swelling that you could try.
On a bed or recliner if you can use the bottom of one foot to massage your other leg from the knee down as far as you can reach around, expecially on the inside of the leg. Also massage the top and bottom of the foot after. Switch. Then rotate your feet in a circle for aout 30 seconds, go the other way for 30 seconds, repeat 3-5 times. Take the bottom of each foot and rub the top of the other foot again. There is a video out there on the internet of a doctor showing how to do something very similiar but I can't seem to find it right now.
