1 Nine inch pie shell (unbaked)
3 eggs
2 cups milk-scalded
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2-3 tsps of melted butter
Ground nutmeg
Prepare pie shell and set aside (I used a frozen premade one)
Beat eggs until light and foamy
Add scalded milk (cooled), sugar, salt and vanilla
Brush inside of pie shell with the melted butter
Pour custard into the pie shell and sprinkle with nutmeg
Bake at 450 for 10 minutes and then reduce heat to 325 and bake for 20-30 minutes until pie tests done by putting a knife in the center of pie and it comes out clean.
