He went to California to look for work and decided he liked it there and wanted me, his pregnant wife, to sell everything I owned and move out there with him so we could live in an abandoned trailer he found on the beach. His idea of working was bartering for the things he wanted. He once built a fence for a dentist so they would pull a tooth for him! Needless to say I was not doing that and filed for divorce when he refused to move back to Kansas.

I went to Europe in the summer of 1974 to sing with the Mid Kansas choir. The trip (3 weeks) cost $900 with a side trip to Rome for an extra $90 so I added the Rome trip in as well! My best friend Kim and I went along with about 5 other high school students from our town and a bunch of other high school students from across the state. It was a great time!

The states that I visited was always on vacations.
