My Thursday Gratitudes Posted by Delta on 4/24/2025, 4:24 pm, in reply to "Thursday Gratitude" Having a husband who can do some of the repairs around the house, still and handy kids and grandkids. We discovered that we have a leak in the en suite bathroom under the slab. Daughter helped to find it and her youngest son stayed to help take out the massive slab of countertop, counter and cut out more tile and concrete. His oldest brother showed up to help lift the countertop off. These guys can get things done. Hopefully, we will have our bathroom back by tomorrow. Having a bathroom on the other wing of the house with it's own hot water heater that also serves the kitchen. Makes it a lot more convenient since the other hot water heater is off. Good sleep. I have been sleeping well most nights since I had COVID in February. I just could not go to sleep last night until almost 7 this morning and just got an almost three-hour nap where I kept waking up every few minutes. It makes me so grateful for when I do get good sleep. I only have three kids still young enough to be in high school, and they all made the honor roll all year. The 16-year-old grandson also took two college classes at the local branch of the state university and had a B average there. Proud of my kiddos, especially my daughter's two. They started homeschooling this year, and we didn't know if they could apply themselves without the structure of a classroom/teachers, but they did great. Adam's wedding is today and we all get to eat virtual cake with Cindy to celebrate.

Abby who is my first grandchild is graduating next Month and I can’t think of a graduation gift unless I give her money. Just wondering if you had any ideas from gifts you’d given maybe. Not trying to put you on the spot.

I have gotten nice watches for some that made them happy. A Pandora bracelet with a graduation charm worked well for one. I got a spinner luggage for one because I had overheard them telling my grandson that they hoped someone got them some to take to college. One wanted a designer crossbody bags. I am not a great gift giver. I always struggle with ideas a lot. I usually just go with whatever I hear them talking about or one of the boys hears them say.

She is staying at home the next 2 years to finish her associates before paying g big money for tuition. She already has scholarships etc and food. Driving home from college. Laundry. They are going 4 hours away to Kansas City right after graduation because they have offered her an excellent scholarship. Graduating 13/300 I may have to give her money. She likes money lol. I was just trying g for something more memorable

We got our son a Posted by Delta on 4/27/2025, 4:50 pm, in reply to "Thank you Delta" name brand dress watch, only to find that his in-laws got him another name brand watch, but it was more of an everyday watch that does a bunch of different things. He takes very good care of the one we got him and says he plans to either leave it to his son or give it to a grandson when he graduates, if she ever has a grandson. My aunt got me something AND a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook, the red and white one. I still have that cookbook and use it frequently, but can't for the life of me remember what the other gift was, so hit her interests or get something to be passed on. I don't know if she likes jewelry, but my daughter loved getting a Pandora bracelet. She just loves picking out or being gifted charms for every milestone in her life. By now, her bracelet is getting pretty full, and she still wears it for special occasions. A nephew got a new laptop from his parents to take to college, so we got him a nice leather, briefcase-style laptop case. He has been out of college for almost 20 years and has gone through many laptops but is still carrying that leather laptop case. Another thought is paying for housing for a short trip or tickets to get somewhere she wants to go. Maybe train tickets for a trip across the US or to a specific destination. I love traveling in roometts on a train.

I’ll figure it out. I love the watch suggestion BUT she wears an Apple Watch! I was thinking about an IPad I think she would love it but honestly you never know because kids do so much on their phones and she just got a new one that’s big. So hard!

My bidet toilet seat is coming tomorrow. It's simple enough that U could do it but it calls for movements I have trouble with. It's like a 10 minute job. MAYBE we can do it together. In the past I would literally have to leave the house when he attempted something because just my presence in the environment made him angry when he was that worked up. What a marriage! Terrific about the grands. Just terrific!

I took my toilet seat off and put the new one one but bending further is painful so my son screwed it to the water line and my husband did the other. I hate that I amd not as agile as I used to be and can't do simple things like that again. Your description of Bill sounds much like my husband was for a few years and getting worse constantly. Yes, my presence seemed to make him much worse too and a hiccup in how things went would make him ballistic. It scared me because he seemed to lose his humanity sometimes. I am so grateful that he was taken off some meds he was on and he is more like he used to be, though he is still a little more volatile than eh ever used to be. I wonder if age does that to some men?
