Update on Murray Posted by Beverly on 9/23/2025, 1:01 am He is so, so crabby. I am trying to be pleasant about everything he needs to do....but he barks at me everytime I remind to drink lots of water, juice, pop, coffee. This is essential to keep his phlegm thinned and to stay 'regular'... SO many drugs... he is taking. All he says to me is ... leave me alone! It's been so difficult. Finally after a morning of 'leave me alone' ... I brought him some water and said: "Drink this and SHUT UP! He was stunned. Me too. Ten minutes later he apologized... me too. He stopped it for the rest of the day. AND he drank lots of liquids. He doesn't feel very well. His breathing is a struggle. He won't eat much. He's depressed. He saw the Pulmonary PA last week and then talked with the doctor on the phone last Thursday. They want to do the brontoscomy on September 30. He will be put under, then go down his windpipe with a camera and will take little pieces of his spot for a biopsy. I am so nervous about it. He's scared too. His sister, Nancy, is coming down Monday and then stay Tuesday. I appreciate it. I am down and scared too.I'll keep you posted.

((Beverly)) Posted by delta on 9/23/2025, 4:18 pm, in reply to "Update on Murray" this point of life is hard on a lot of us and it can be scary as well as strange trying to deal with so many changes. i am sure that it is very scary for both of you. it must be doubly hard on you being down and still trying to care for him. very familiar with bronchoscopy, a lot of people here have to have it because there is a virus in the soil here that even young people get that looks like cancer on film and even acts like cancer or COPD but they have to know which one to know how to treat people. other than the usual risk of anesthesia it is fairly easy and everyone has gone home in a couple of hours. after you will at least know what you are dealing with and only have to fight one battle instead of fear of multiple things. i hope this makes sense, i often don't these days. i am glad that you stood up for yourself and made him realize what he was doing. since he doesn't seem to normally be a mean man perhaps the two of can discuss it and come up with a word that you could gently let him know he has become excessively grouchy or mean to you without realizing it. praying for both of you.

I really do but you don't have to put up with being talked to that way. If it was dementia or something he couldn't control, it would be a different story but, it isn't! (I sound too much like a therapist, don't I? U want to sound like a friend who lives you both!) I surely get the 'scared' part. We are here for you 100%!
