Monday Thankfuls Posted by Delta on 12/29/2025, 5:39 pm, in reply to "Monday Thankfuls" Laundry day and it is almost finished. Anticipating freshly washed sheets tonight. The wind was mostly in the tops of the trees and above here last night, and not much damage. Around us, were areas with many trees and power poles toppled. All the wires in this area are underground. The sub-station can have problems, but it is usually squirrels. Since they found the place underground that was causing our power to go off, we haven't had much trouble, but for years, it went off constantly. We are making a plan today to pack up the old house and get everything moved to the new house. My husband has decided that he wants to hire a company to move things since the old house has to be moved down a set of stairs in the back because the front entrance has a weird T-turn when coming into it. It is kinda bitter sweet. I am going to miss my ugly little house and its beautiful view, as well as the neighbors and the whole area, but I think I am going to totally love the new place.

I just love the solicitude and peace of the one we have, but it is hard to get there, then have to travel 30 minutes on seriously winding roads to get groceries or anything else we need that Dollar General or Casey's gas station doesn't carry. We are needing to move the furniture from the old house to the new house so we can sell the old house to pay for the new one. I love everything about the first house except the location. I wish we lived closer to it.

We got the new house in October and have been busy-busy there getting things ready. It had not been lived in in years and had a lot of things that needed updating, which was the reason that we got such a deal on it. We couldn't have afforded a place it this location if it had been easy for anyone to fix the way it needed.

Still have to figure out this gastro system, however. 60 mph winds last night woke me up. It was scary. Grateful to have a safe and warm home. Added a couple different exercises to my routine. News... at 11. Music. You wonderful ladies. Love you all.

He has taken down the backsplash and I suspect he will start painting ceilings today. He loves to keep busy! 2) I am getting a cold but not as bad as my brother and Dad have had. Hopefully it will be in and out in in a flash. So far, Ray doesn't have it 3) only took 2 days "off" at Christmas. In the "olden days" it used to be WEEKS! 4) weather man was wrong (so far!) We were supposed to get freezing rain this morning but so far so good 5) time to make some New Year's Resolutions and I'm looking forward to 2026

It was so easy during my recovery and the weight seemed eager to fall off! Back to the daily struggle. Only 4 clients today and working from home. My Coq au Vin was good but I got carried away with the sprigs of rosemary. Next time, I'll use less and increase the carrots. It's a simple dish with a fancy name that just means chicken with wine. Watching the West Wing. So many moving episodes. The Christmas episode from Season 1 was especially beautiful and moving. Narrowing down the Sylvie Demers paintings. O e is titled 'Voir le monde autrement' or 'To see the world differently'; another 'Grandir' or 'to grow'; a third, 'Je suis la' or 'I am here.'Still sorting through a couple more. Some of the ones I love most don't necessarily match the messages that I like the most.

I always write all over my recipes to improve them to our tastes. I need to revisit the West Wing. I tried to watch it once and never got into it, but I think that was mostly my husband's interference. I need to try it again. So many things that I didn't ever get into when they were on originally became favorites when I started watching them on streaming.

I have never heard of Sylvie Demers before and I have to say I absolutely love some of her stuff. I really liked Voir le Monde autrement. The other two didn’t speak to me-but looking through some of her other paintings-I liked one called We. I have to admit I had never heard of this artist before and am glad you introduced me to her!!
