I got home about 6 Posted by Cindyh on 2/1/2026, 2:42 am Ate a little and we were both so tired we laid down at 8. I fell asleep soon after and slept until 10:30 when pain woke me up Paula. Dr sent me home on hydrocodone. Mild to me. It’s taking the edge off and that’s it. I had Percocet with a morphine shot in the hospital. Wow things are changing in pain control folks. I got a handout about about alternative therapies for pain control. Music therapy etc. bull. Sorry lol. He said I was bone on bone with no cartilage at all. It was A mess. I am to wear this cumbersome padded sling 30 days unless told differently I have an appointment 2/13. And in march It’s very hard being one handed My gratitude of the day. My bidet!! Thank you so for the prayers and well wishes.

Hydrocodone has never done anything for me but make me not care about anything and be grouchy. I hope that if it doesn't work for you, they will give you something else, preferably not music. My husband sat up on the couch with his forearm resting on a cushion for several weeks after he had his shoulder surgery. He said he could get comfortable and get some good sleep. Not even a recliner or adjustable bed was comfortable for him. I hope that you can find your spot. His padded sling kept his arm at an odd angle, so anything reclining was not comfortable. I just put a stool under his feet, gave him a blanket, and slept in my recliner. I hope that the worst is over soon.

I went to my primary care dr on Friday and I had a hard time talking him into giving me any hydrocodone! I don’t even take them that often, just like to have them for when I need them. He suggested I do exercise instead! He finally did send a script to my pharmacy. I hope you can find some relief for the pain and each day feel better! Still praying for you sweet friend. It’s good to see you on here with us!
