Having said that, if it truly is a Sheaffer pen from the era of cartridge pens, Sheaffer always used their own, proprietary cartridges and converters. You can't use others. Another reason for seeing the pen is that there are a handful of "slim" models Sheaffer pens that use a special slim cartridge or converter. THESE are very hard to come by, but there are work-arounds. If it takes a standard Sheaffer converter, they are still available in retail. Here is one listing. Keep in mind that these are also starting to become somewhat scarce.
