Millegrain is maybe more often ment to mean the small beaded texture in the bezel. Or when the sides of a diamond band is finished with millegrain Then the whole thing is called "millegrain set" though the stones are actually bead set . But here again the idea is to make the border of metal and diamond disappear in glitter.
Very popular around 1910s the millegrain set in new items give a nice antique and detailed touch.
