Point taken LDMJ. Because you used the words "bequeathed it to her daughter the then Queen Elizabeth", I assumed you meant it was left to QEQM through her mother's will. My apologies for misunderstanding your meaning. Sometimes our different cultural ways of using the English language causes confusions. --Previous Message-- : Quite so Beth1 - as I said in my post, I : vaguely recall that the snake bracelet was a : bequest rather than a gift, in which case : this is not the solution to our quest! : : --Previous Message-- : Thank you LDMJ, : In the link posted by Nellie to an earlier : discussion on the board about this bracelet : posters mentioned that the mother of QEQM : was still alive when the 1936 photo posted : by Baxter was taken. That seems to rule out : an inheritance from QEQM's mother - but it : is possible that we are all mistaken. This : bracelet seems to be a bit of a mystery. : : --Previous Message-- : The Queen Mother was given a snake bracelet : by : her Mother the Countess of Strathmore - I : vaguely recall reading somewhere that she in : fact bequeathed it to her daughter the then : Queen Elizabeth. I will try and find where : I read this. : : : : :
