In his book about the jewels of the Queens and Princesses of Belgium (Bijoux des Reines et des Princesses de Belgique, 2004), Christophe Vachaudez suggests that the V-shaped necklace could be a gift from King Leopold III or from King Baudouin. But Vachaudez writes it in the interrogative way, so he does not seem to be very sure about that.
I think that the modern style of the necklace (mix of round brilliants and baguette-cut diamonds) could match the style of Van Cleef and Arpels, of whom King Leopold III and King Baudouin were clients in the 1950s/1960s.
