Besides the Currant-Leaf Brooch, 2014 also gave us the opportunity to see again (private) jewels from the French Royal Family (Orléans). On 24 May, Melchior von Schönborn-Buchheim, the youngest son of Princess Isabelle of France (herself the eldest daughter of Henri [VI], Count of Paris [1908-1999] and of Isabelle of Orleans-Braganza, Countess of Paris [1911-2003]) married Bernadette von Mentzingen in the monastery of Herzogenburg, in Austria. The bride wore the sapphire and diamond tiara which had been presented to the late Countess of Paris as a wedding gift in 1931 by the monarchist movement 'Action Française'. As far as I know, it is the first time this tiara was seen since the death of the Countess of Paris in 2003. The tiara was inherited by Princess Isabelle after her mother's death. A few weeks later, on 8 June 2014, another grandson of the late Count and Countess of Paris, Axel de Sambucy de Sorgues (eldest son of Princess Chantal of France) married Charlotte Paul-Raynaud in Marrakech, Morocco. The bride wore a nice diamond tiara which, according to Point de vue, was loaned to the bride by her mother-in-law, Princess Chantal. It is pictured below (at the bottom of the first picture, and worn by the late Countess of Paris on the second picture): (pictures from Lorenzo's website: http://diamantsdelacouronne.free.fr/Bijoux%20des%20Orleans/index.html )
