Dear Arthur and Ayvee,
I don't know who bought and presented the jewels to Mary, but the auction was in the fall 2003 at the Danish auctionhouse Bruun Rasmussen. I forgot to photograph the frontpage of the catalogue, so I don't remember the auction number. What surprised me the most is how 'cheap' the jewels are. For a royal jewel and a royal engagement present in particular I expected much more expensive stuff. But - I like the pieces very much, and I like the thought that they were bought in Denmark - Mary's future homeland.
