I seem to recall reading in a magazine that these aquamarine pieces were an engagement present from the Prince Consort, but it might have been mere speculation from the magazine.
Miss Donaldson received a gold bangle with a pearl as an engagement present from Queen Margrethe (who had previous owned the piece), so they probably gave separate gifts, which might also explain the relatively low prize.
