She has so many aquamarines , were they all gifts s from King Baudouin? What is your idea we never saw the base agin?. The King having no Children and being wealthy as you said , could have given a tiara or diamond jewels to his nieces Princesses Astrid, Marie-Astrid and Margarethe. --Previous Message-- : The aquamarines were a gift from her husband. : Boudewijn was a wealthy man so there was no : need for his wife to sell part of her : jewels. She just opted to wear smaller and : lighter pieces later in his reign. : : --Previous Message-- : We never saw the Coronet agsin, perhaps the : late Queen sold it to buy her aigue marines : ? : : --Previous Message-- : As I said in the beginning, all the : transformations must/should be reversible. : Otherwise it might ruin one of the most : fascinating characteristics of this tiara: : its flexibility/convertibility. : : The coronet version, as Queen Fabiola wore : somehow, imo, overwhelmed her. Perhaps with : Queen Mathilde it will be different. : Something similar (but in a larger scale) : happens with Luxembourg Empire tiara and GD : Maria Teresa. : : The idea with the aquamarines is very : interesting mainly because it would made use : of stones in existence (lets hope) in the : BeRF. And I agree with you, that necklace : has a rather poor design, which is very sad : because the stones are interesting and : certainly valuable. : : But the idea with the emeralds
whow
: amazing! : : : : : :
