What's with the current zombie craze? Seems like every time I turn around there's a zombie. Why, just last week in the "trendy" part of my city, a group of folks got a permit to have some sort of zombie gathering where dress like the un-dead and chase each other through the streets. They're expecting over 1000 people to participate.

I've had no use for zombies ever since I first saw 'Night of the Living Dead,' back in '68. It had played uptown for 2 weeks and I'd heard the reviews and saw the gory ads in the paper, so I couldn't wait for it to hit our neighborhood second run theater. Never saw such a huge crowd of kids turn out for a film in my life. Scarred the living devil out of me! Still holds up well I feel.
