I'd like to take this opportunity to once more float my idea for how Simon should be revitalized without irrevocably altering his powers.
I think all he really needs is something for him to become passionate about again. What I'd like to see is for him to really dedicate himself to his causes. He has never thought of himself as a superhero first and foremost, but he should accept that his superheroics is what grants him the celebrity to have weight to throw behind his charity and whatnot. With that in mind, he should take stock of what his superhero life has become and get passionate about it directly.
I think he should take steps to make himself a more successful superhero by getting back to his inventor roots. He doesn't have to run a company, which is what got him in trouble the first time. He's already famous and presumably has some cash to his name, so that stress should be gone. Inventing should be in his blood, and it should come back into his life at some point.
His body is essentially a source of perpetual and exceptionally potent energy. As a munitions man, that should be useful. He could invent devices that normally would take a nuclear reactor to power and make them portable by having them run off his own body's energy, the way his jet packs used to. And those weren't specifically designed to do so, which means that his body must be inherently capable of powering machinery he is in close proximity to. If he designs devices especially intended to run off his body's energy, I can only imagine it would be much more efficient than his belt jets.
So he could bring back the belt jets, only instead of jets they would be little devices the size of first generation iPods, and they would create a teleportation field. And he could have wrist gauntlets to fire ionic blasts, giving him that extra combat capability without having to create a plot device to give him a new power. His trademark sunglasses could have all sorts of high tech gadgetry that otherwise would require a bulky power source--but not when his own eyes are glowing with the stuff.
The possibilities are endless, and not only does it revitalize Wonder Man as a superhero without actually changing his powers, but it also breaths new life into Simon Williams as a character.

: I hate to sound like a broken record, Mitchel,

: Right now he is just another strong guy who
