: But Bendis gave Cage an attitude and a
: confidence, a swagger if you like, that
: Simon doesn't have. Now a days, attitude is
: more popular than sheer power.
:
: "Hollywood" had an attitude
: because he had a chip on his shoulder which
: meant he didn't hold back and he was a
: FORCE. Perhaps if Simon were written more
: like "Hollywood" he would become
: more interesting to writers, which means
: they would do more with him.
:
: Maybe it's time something happened in his
: life(such as feeling guilty about letting
: Wanda down)that has Simon leave the Avengers
: and go rogue. Put him in that future get-up
: he had in his mini and have him start
: turning towards his "Hollywood"
: persona(the loner who takes no guff from
: anyone). I know this is a drastic measure,
: but anything to get him more involved in the
: Marvel Universe.
:
: In fact, now that I think of it, it would be
: cool to see a long gray haired, shade
: sporting, trench coat wearing, no holding
: back 'cause he has a chip on his shoulder,
: Wonder Man join up with the New Avengers and
: become their version of The Sentry-the go to
: guy, powerhouse who everyone, even Cage,
: would be afraid to upset because he just may
: take THEM out!.

I agree 100%. I think the problem with Wondy and how he is perceived is that he is too nice and too bland. Characters like that usually aren't writers favorite to begin with. While I don't want Wondy to become another Penance/Speedball, he could get some of that Hollywood attitude. As a matter of fact I would love him to get all of that attitude and cockiness that Hollywood had.
As strange as this may sound does everyone remember when Wondy went thru his dark phase during his title and in AWC? The whole Angkor storyline was one of my favorites. I enjoyed when he was unstable and unpredictable. Too bad Sentry occupies that role nowadays.
