Well, Ralph, it's also possible that I may have been misled by my "Pilz" discs of four of the "Haydn" quartets as they had couplings of four "Milan" Quartets. Maybe Pilz didn't bring out a third volume which is why I didn't find it on the rack (a Poundstore of some sort I recall) along with the other two. Another thing that makes me think I might have put you on the wrong path... I found a site listing the timings of the Mozarteum Quartets' recordings of the Haydn Quartets:
https://music.apple.com/by/album/mozart-string-quartets-no-14-19/375838033
In which those of the Dissonance Quartet are different from those on your recording. Even more disconcerting is the fact that the members of the group are not listed as they are for the four quartets that I own on the Pilz recording. Suspicious.
In addition , you were very impressed by the playing on your cd while I recall that the performances I have aren't anything very special ; this review I found in my searches might be thought to back up my impression:
https://www.nytimes.com/1986/05/25/arts/concert-mozarteum-quartett.html
(As an aside to this review I heard Isaac Stern repeat the first movement of the Sibelius Concerto at a concert because he thought he'd played it so badly ).
It could be that the performance you have is taken from a radio broadcast, in which case chances of identifying the actual group is very slim indeed.
What is very confusing about the Vienna Master Series is the fact that actual musicians such Dubravka Tomsic and The Mozarteum Quartet are featured along with those who are almost certainly pseudonymous.
I have a three record issue on this label of Strauss Waltzes in which the first volume is supposedly conducted (with the Wiener Volksoper orchestra) by Scholz himself and the third by Peter Falk.....the actor taking a break from filming Columbo ? !
