I agree with Tamara. It was very common for court painters in these days to borrow the jewels and dresses to paint them in their homes and only paint the the sitter's face in the palace. There are many stories about painters borrowing these kinds of things for their portraits - when Roslin painted the state portrait of Catherine II he borrowed all the russian crown jewels for the hotel he was staying at - unguarded and unlocked. So I think it is possible that the tiara was changed. Why should the artist paint the rest of the tiara so perfectly and then paint his own fantasy for these small details?
