This link has HRH's speech. I had not realised the occasion was not that long after the death of Queen Victoria. And the Marquis of Linlithgow was Governor General. Now I understand why his equestrian statue is in such a prominent position in St Kilda Rd. Perhaps we should offer it to Canberra! Still looking for the photo taken during proceedings from the position the artist had. http://www.peo.gov.au/students/cl/first.html
