Joye- I do not think it is the brooch Queen Victoria wore in Menkes, page 20. The brooch is a round pearl and diamond cluster brooch. (Also in Fields, 1987, p. 118-119) This eventually went to the Queen Mother.
I think the brooch is the oval one pictured as No. 8. This is listed by Fields as Queen Alexandra's baroque pearl brooch in p. 134 (I use the 1987 version). This was the one that was then passed on to the Duchess of Gloucester.
